Hon. Francis Zaake and Hon. Anthony Akol have been concerned in a physical altercation on Wednesday morning after feelings run excessive following the controversial Nationwide Espresso (Modification) Invoice, 2024.
Hon. Zaake had expressed concern over security of members within the parliament alleging that some people who usually are not MPs had entered the Home with weapons.
After his submission, his seat had been taken over by the Kilak North MP, Anthony Akol.
An altercation began when Mityana Municipality MP Francis Zaake tried to displace Hon. Akol from the seat, forcing the latter to rain punches on him.
It took fellow MPs and safety to interrupt the battle and the Speaker of Parliament has since suspended twelve MPs following the scuffle.
Under are the names of the 12 MPs who at the moment are not allowed to attend plenary for 3 consecutive sittings due to misconduct:
Akol, Zaake, Wakayima Musoke, Aloysius Mukasa, Charles Tebandeke., Isaiah Ssasaga, Asinansi Nyakato, Derrick Nyeko, Frank Kabuye, Ronald Evan Kanyike, Susan Mugabi and Shamim Malende.
