Shakib Lutaaya, who featured in season 2 of Younger, Well-known & African on Netflix, has revealed why he selected to introduce himself in Luganda.
His introduction—“Nze Lutaaya Shakib, nva Uganda and I’m Zari’s fiancé”—caught the eye of many viewers, some discovering it odd whereas others thought it was endearing.

Shakib defined that his determination was deeply rooted in his Ugandan background and love for his native language.
I grew up watching films and all the time needed to see movies from Uganda. So after I acquired the prospect to be on Netflix’s Younger, Well-known & African, I needed to showcase Luganda and characterize Uganda.
By talking Luganda on such a worldwide platform, Shakib hoped to deliver satisfaction to Ugandans and show the presence of the language in worldwide media.
He expressed his pleasure in realizing that viewers from all around the world would hear Luganda on a serious streaming platform like Netflix.
